Neal began his musical journey at the age of five when he was introduced to his first love, the piano. He went on to play the violin, french horn, electric and acoustic guitars, and even toured the U.S., Hawaii, Japan, and Hong Kong with the elite handbell choir, Strikepoint. While attending college, Neal spent much of his free time in the practice halls, playing the piano for several hours a day. Many of the compositions he made there appear on his debut album, First Love. First Love was released through Page Music in 1998 and was the top selling solo piano album for the Tennessee based company.
A year later, in 1999, Neal decided to form his own production company and Harbour Light Music was born. The inspiration for the company name came from a family trip to Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse in Nova Scotia, Canada. This beautiful beacon brings comfort, direction, and hope to sailors when they are out at sea. It is Neal’s hope that his music provides a similar comfort to those who listen as they navigate all of life’s journeys.
Since releasing First Love in 1998, Neal has gone on to produce numerous top selling instrumental albums. His music has been described as soothing and addictive and he is most often compared with Jim Brickman, Yanni, and George Winston. Neal has appeared on numerous radio and television programs and has been performing works from his catalog for over 25 years. His recordings can be found in homes around the world and all across the country in gift shops and Bed and Breakfasts. His music is streaming on all major online platforms as well.
